Greek tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas beat his French rival Gael Monfils in the Dubai ATP 500 semifinals on Friday.

The Greek player won with a score of 4-6, 7-6, 7-6 and will be going through to the finals of the competition.

There, he will in all likelihood play against tennis legend Roger Federer, if the Swiss man manages a win over Croatian player Borna Coric. That match will take place on Friday evening, local time.

The French player Monfils, who Tsitsipas triumphed over today, is a 32-year old who rose to become the sixth-ranked player in the world in 2016, before suffering from a series of injuries.

Tsitsipas stunned the world when he defeated Federer in January at the Australian Open.
