Indian actress Neetu Chandra, known for her roles in Bhojpuri, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu films, is now participating in a Greek movie, where she will be playing the Indian Goddess of Love.
Concerning the film she said “the script was written five years ago. This is my first international movie and I play an Indian Goddess. It is a wonderful love story.
The movie, entitled “Block 12, will be directed by Kyriakos Tofarides, and will be included in the International Film Festival of India. It deals with the issues of big powers that manage to manipulate the resources and people of the country. It is an allegorical, political comedy, full of social satire, surrealism and an element of magic.
When asked to talk about the differences between Greek and Indian Filmmaking the actress said that the Greeks are disciplined and always on schedule, but the Indian film industry is far richer than that of the Greeks.
Tofarides said: “My co-producers from India suggested some actresses and I ended up selecting Neetu.” He also mentioned that India has a long history in cinema and that the movie “Mother India” in specific impressed him because it shows the depth in values in the Indian Society. He believes that India produces a large number of films that deal with various issues.
