Argo Travel Asia-Pacific in collaboration with the Vietnam Society of Travel Agents (VISTA) presented Greece as a tourism destination to travel agencies of Vietnam, in an event which took place at the Vietnamese Women’s Museum.
Some 48 leading outbound tour operators of Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, attended the event, which was opened by Vu The Binh, Chairman of Vista who described the perspective of outbound tourism for Vietnam and the need of Vietnamese tour operators to be renewed with new products and destinations.
He proposed Greece as one of the most interesting destinations, noting the need for more information concerning the Greek tourist products, infrastructure, prices and services.
Stratis Voursoukis made a presentation of Greece and of the services and tourist packages of Argo Travel. The founder and Managing Director of Travel Media Applications (TMA) Theodore Koumelis presented the marketing and communication services TMA offers in order to facilitate business between Vietnam and Greece.
Data from UNWTO and WTTC show a significant growth of outbound tourism in Vietnam over the last decade, reaching from 271,000 tourists in 2001 to 1,700,000 in 2011 with an average daily expenditure in $930. Greece is a favorite destination of the Vietnamese people and especially Santorini and honeymoon packages.
