Papandreou Visits the Greeks of Cape Town

Former Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou met administration representatives of the Hellenic Community of Cape Town Africa as well as with several Greek members while he was in South Africa to attend the 24th Socialist International Congress, and was re-elected its President.

According to his office, Papandreou had a long talk with the members and officials over the problems they deal with in their daily routine, including obstacles they face while making efforts to promote their Greek heritage and culture in the country.

During his stay in Cape Town, Papandreou attended also the service at the Holy Church of St. George, where he also met with Metropolitan Sergios of the Cape of Good Hope.
