4th International Greek Conference in Buenos Aires

greek-conference-buenos-airesThe 4th International Greek Conference, organized by the Hellenic Cultural Association “Nostos,” has been scheduled to take place from December 3 to 5 at the University of Belgrano in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The conference will focus on the influence that the Greek language and culture have over spirit, science and art.

Twenty speakers, professors, scientists and artists from Argentina, Greece, Canada, Brazil, Chile, Venezuela, Spain and the USA will participate in the conference.

The conference deals with various modern-day issues but mainly on “Women and migration in Canada,” “Cavafy, the Greek identity of the diaspora,” “The Spirit of Democracy,” “Thermopylae 2014. The economic crisis in Greece,” “Thoughts on Greek humor,” “The Architecture of Greece in Latin America,” “The findings of Amphipolis. Royal Tombs?” “Tribute to Dr. Georgios Papanikolaou” and “Greek education in Argentinean schools.”

The Hellenic Cultural Association “Nostos” is a non-profit organization aiming to promote the Greek civilization in Argentina. Over the years, the association has organized various conferences and literary competitions with the participation of authors from across the world. It has also organized cultural trips to Greece for Argentinean artists, Greek lessons and presentations in schools and universities.
