A destination of the southern Aegean Sea was presented to 104 Tour Operators and travel agents in the United Arab Emirates at the first Greek Deluxe Travel roadshow. This is the first tourism event organized by Greece at the United Arab Emirates and is generally the first event aimed to enhance luxury tourism in Greece.

The first Greek Deluxe Travel roadshow was organized in cooperation with Emirates Airlines while the Greek Ambassador Dionysios Zois launched the event. Besides the Southern Aegean Sea, the Greek island Crete was also presented in the event. The Vice Governor of the region of South Aegean responsible for tourism, employment and economic growth, Eleftheria Ftaklaki during the presentation of the destination, invited the residents of the United Arab Emirates to visit the islands of the South Aegean. Mrs. Ftaklaki highlighted the advantages of the destination making specific reference to the luxury services offered in South Aegean.

Moreover, the Vice Governor met with the Tour Operators and the Vice President of Emirates Airlines Tierry Aucoc and discussed ways of cooperation for the development of a destination in the United Arab Emirates. They also agreed to organize a fam trip within 2014 in order for the tour operators to experience the islands of the South Aegean that could attract Arab visitors. The Vice President of Rodos Hoteliers Association and member of the Executive Committee of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels Aris Soulounias as well as hoteliers from Rhodes and Mykonos also participated in the event.

Note that the first Greek Deluxe Travel roadshow aims to extend the number of visitors with high income of the promising markets of the United Arab Emirates and to create new effective partnerships for Greek tourism enterprises.
