A 35-year-old Greek drug peddler was arrested at the New Delhi railway station with LSD and charas in his possession, police said Sunday.
Emmanouil Chatzakis was arrested Friday. Police seized 140 fine quality LSD paper stamps and 250 gm charas from him.
“Chatzakis is involved in an international drug trafficking racket. The value of the LSD and charas is approximately Rs.14 lakh and Rs.1 lakh, respectively,” police said.
A case has been registered under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
The arrested man told police he had come to India in November 2013 and stayed at a famous ashram in Andhra Pradesh for two months. He then went to Nepal for 15 days and then to Kasol in Himachal Pradesh, where he exchanged LSD paper stamps for charas in a “barter system”, police said.
