The Greek Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Kyriakos Gerontopoulos invited the entrepreneurs of South Africa to invest in Greece, during his speech at the opening ceremony of the conference which is organized by the Greek chapter of HIP Alliance. HIP Alliance is a union of South African entrepreneurs of Greek, Italian and Portuguese roots.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs met representatives of the Federation, as well as with members from the Hellenic Communities of Johannesburg and from the Associations of the Greek expatriates.
He also visited the University of Johannesburg, where he met the Deputy Vice Chancellor Tinyiko Maluleke and the president of the Department of Greek and Latin Studies Andrea Doyle. He was also informed of the important work that the University does. They also told him that the University has more than 100 students, who are not of Greek origin.
