Journalists from Shanghai in China, who visited Greece and in particular the peninsula of Mount Athos for two days, said they were charmed by the beauty of the region.
They expressed their great interest in the Holy Mountain, Aristotle’s birthplace, the Canal of Xerxes and the Ottoman baths of Mademohoria. The traditional settlement of Arnaia and sandy beaches of Ammouliani island in Halkidiki attracted them as well.
Their visit was in the framework of the Mount Athos Area Gourmet 2013 events. The journalists were informed of the institution’s activities, while they tasted many of the menus, expressing their intense interest in the products of the weekly thematic unit entitled, Ancient Greek Cuisine.
The visit took place on June 8 and 9 and was part of the educational journey organized by the tourist agency Meli Tours in Central Macedonia, aiming at projecting and promoting the region in Shanghai’s market.
