Greece Promotes Itself in Buenos Aires

The second annual academic meeting of the Greek Cultural Center in Buenos Aires will be called The Influence of Greece and of Greek Culture in the Arts and Science.

It is being held in collaboration with the university Belgrano, under the auspices of the Embassy of Greece in Argentina, and with help from the foundation of friends of Nikos Kazantzakis, and the Rotary Club International.

The conference will be held at the university  with the participation of more than 30 lecturers and professors from other universities, such as the Universidad de Buenos Aires, La Plata, Universidad del Salvador, and Universidad Catolica Argentina. The conference will examine the history and culture of both countries as well.

It will open on Dec. 3 with the ballet Tango-English Dictionary under the direction of George Dermitzakis, which recently was presented in the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the occasion of the celebration of the anniversary of  diplomatic relations with Greece. The Greek-inspired photo exhibition Recollections will also take place. The closing ceremony will present the ballet Freedom, by Nikos Kwstakopoulou, who will present traditional Greek ances.
