The Greek Municipality of Volos participated in the International Mediterranean Tourism Market of Tel Aviv with its own stall under the auspices of the Municipality of Zagoras-Mouresiou and businessmen of the region.
The International Mediterranean Tourism Market (IMTM 2012) has established itself as a premier business to business exhibition for the travel industry. Travel and Tourism trends reconfirm that this region is buoyant and growing, and annually attracting more and more visitors from all over the world. Year by year companies within the industry are capitalizing on this lucrative market.
The representative for the Greek participation was the Chairman of Tourism Promotion and Development, Mrs. Mpartzioka.
According to Mpartzioka, the stall of Volos was packed with people who were impressed by the beauties of the Pilio region in Volos. Also, visitors expressed their interest in visiting Volos during the winter season.
Theodoros Papaloukas, the Euroleague club Maccabi Tel Aviv Greek player, was also in attendance and attracted many visitors to the Greek stall.
During the exhibition, the Chairman of Tourism Promotion and Development, Mrs. Mpartzioka, made contacts with tourism agents and Israeli journalists, while she spoke with representatives of the aviation company ‘Flying Carpet’ regarding the possibility of establishing an air connection from Israel to Nea Agxialos of Volos.
