PASOK’s Magia Tsokli Travels to India to Initiate Greek Tourism

PASOK’s Parliament member who is in charge of a parliamentary working group on tourism, Magia Tsokli, took the initiative of developing tourist flow from India. She will travel to India to contact tourism agencies and television producers in Mumbai and New Delhi.

Based on her contacts and her experience as a journalist, Mrs. Tsokli will meet some of the outmost tour operators in India.  She will present on behalf of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the country’s wide tourism product, governmental efforts for boosting tourism and touristic cooperation between the two countries.

The Indian market is still an unreliable tourism source for Greece, but has many potentialities. Tourism coming from India is among the most growing markets in the world. With a wealthy middle class, Indians spend $2.000 per person during their holidays. According to research, more and more Indians want to visit Greece.

Most Indians choose the period between April-June and October-December to travel. A potential increase of Indian tourists could prolong the touristic period of Greece.
