Holy Cross Ceremony on Nile River Postponed for Security Reasons

Yesterday evening, the board of the Greek Cairo Yachting Club decided on the postponement of the ceremony for the throwing of the Holy Cross for the first time in many years, on the Nile river.
The decision was reached for security reasons, at a time when Egypt is mourning the 23 Coptic Christians who lost their lives after a terrorist attack in Alexandria.
A ceremony is scheduled to take place at the premises of the Greek Yachting Club in Alexandria celebrated by Patriarch Theodoros.
