More than 6o Greek expatriates attended the Greek folk dance seminar that took place a few days ago in Lima, Peru. Dance teacher Margarita Rapanaki came from Chile and was warmly welcomed by the president of the Greek community in Lima, Sonia Raptopoulou and by the Greek consul, Eleni Georgopoulou. The seminar was housed in the spacious halls of a school and of a foundation for children with disabilities. Attendees had the chance to learn 11 dances, each one corresponding to a different Greek region and Zorbas dance. The seminar resulted into the formation of a 20-member dance troupe. Dancers received Greek traditional costumes, DVDs, and CDs with Greek folk music. The closing ceremony was attended by all members of the Greek community who enjoyed an impressive dancing show. Seminar attendees finally received their diplomas.
