3 Greeks Arrested for Drug Trafficking, Zambia

The Zambia Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) has arrested three members of one family in Lusaka’s Makeni area for drug trafficking.
Lucas Avraam, 39, and his brother Niklaos Avraam, 37, are both Greek nationals.  They were arrested at their Makeni homes after they were found with different quantities of cocaine weighing over 10 grams.
Gavrille Avraam, 44, who is believed to be a Greek national but claims to be a South African was arrested together with the two.  He was also found with his own contraband, revealed DEC spokesperson John Nyawali.
“The three businessmen are believed to have been supplying cocaine to members of the public at an identified entertainment spot situated in Makeni…The three who were on the Commission’s watch list were also found with 13 Ivory pieces , pornographic materials and other government trophies after conducting a search at their different homes which are situated in the same premises ,” he said.
They are currently in police custody and will appear in court shortly.
