At the 21st International Marathon which will be held in the city of Omsk in Siberia, the sacred “flame of the Marathon” will be borne, as it was announced by the Russian Minister of Youth, Physical Education and Sports, Sergei Selpakov. This year’s international Marathon in Siberia is dedicated to the anniversary of the Marathon Movement, which completes 2500 in existence.
As it is mentioned in an article published by the Russian Magazine “Business Course”, the transfer of the sacred flame will take place on the 6th of August by the Mayor of Marathon, Spyridon Zagaris and a representative of the Greek Athletics Federation. Following this, the best athletes from Omsk will transfer the Greek flame along the Marathon route.
